Shooting and Editing

I have finally finished my fourth children's book and it's time to edit and shoot my pages. Not exactly my favourite part of this process, but it must be done. When I started writing children's books, I thought to myself, " how hard can it be, its just stories and pictures." How wrong I was!!!! There is so much more to creating children's books . Its a very long process. The illustrations and the actual story are the easy parts. Shooting the pages, getting the perfect lighting, and focus, editing each shot, trying to keep the kiddos out of the room while I am shooting..........these are the hard parts. Its always worth it in the end, when I can hold my book in my hands or when I see the kids reading the books. Its really like pregnancy, its painful but so worth it in the end when you are holding your newborn. For those of you out there who are considering writing children's books, don't venture into it lightly, its WORK!
